Infoxchange Australia has created a website to assist Victorian community support services, and the communities they work with affected by the Victorian bushfires to access technology support and resources to support rebuilding their communities.
Through this website, the ICT industry will be able to donate ICT equipment, services and provide support.
Those agencies who have lost technology equipment will be assisted to replace it, and those who may require extra technology resources will be assisted to acquire it.
Infoxchange, through its Green PC enterprise, is working to establish Technology Resource Hubs in locations affected by the bushfires. Each Hub will comprise a bank of computers with printers, internet access and a photocopier.
People in communities affected will be able to use the Hub to access the internet, prepare documents, print, photocopy and scan material, and general communications.
It can also be used for homework and social networking.
